Who we are
Front Seat TV is a school sport live streaming and replay platform operated by GreenVu. You can contact us at jonathan@d730.co.za.
What the platform does
Front Seat TV provides live streaming and catch-up replays for school sport. Matches are streamed from school fields, watched live by parents and supporters, and made available for replay after full time.
Personal information and POPIA
We process personal information only where it is needed to operate the platform and support participating schools.
- Account details of school staff and platform users, such as names, email addresses, roles and access settings.
- Contact details for the staff member responsible for a school's streaming account, such as a name and telephone number, kept so that we can reach the right person about that school's broadcasts.
- Video of public school sports events, including players, officials, staff, spectators and other people visible at the event.
We use this information to manage school access, run live broadcasts, make replays available, communicate about the service, keep the platform secure, and meet legal or operational obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it beyond what is needed to provide the platform, support connected services, comply with the law, or respond to valid requests from schools or authorities.
Participating schools are responsible for obtaining the consents required to film and broadcast their public sports events, in line with their own media-consent processes.
You may contact us at jonathan@d730.co.za to ask about personal information we hold, or to request access, correction or deletion where applicable.
Connected service
YouTube API Services
Front Seat TV uses YouTube API Services. Use of YouTube is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
When a YouTube channel is connected to the platform, Front Seat TV accesses it to create and manage live broadcasts and streams on the channel's behalf. For that purpose, Front Seat TV stores the connected channel's identifier, the identifiers of broadcasts and videos it creates, and encrypted authorization tokens and stream keys. This information is kept only for as long as the channel remains connected to the platform, and is not shared with third parties.
Access can be revoked at any time via Google security settings, after which the platform can no longer access the channel. Stored tokens and related data can also be deleted on request by contacting jonathan@d730.co.za.
Live streams and replays are hosted and delivered by YouTube. When viewers watch a match through an embedded YouTube player, YouTube may process viewer data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
How we protect this information
We apply the following protection mechanisms to all sensitive data handled by the platform, including Google user data such as authorization tokens:
- Encryption in transit. All communication between browsers, our servers, and Google's APIs uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption at rest. Authorization tokens and stream keys are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored. Encryption keys are held separately from the data they protect and are never stored in source code or version control.
- Access controls. Sensitive data is accessible only to the server-side systems that need it to manage broadcasts, and to a limited number of authorized personnel. Tokens and stream keys are never exposed in browser responses, application logs, or analytics.
- Least privilege. We request only the minimum Google permission required to create and manage live broadcasts on connected channels, and use it solely for that purpose.
- Retention and deletion. Tokens and related identifiers are kept only while a channel remains connected. Disconnecting a channel, revoking access via Google security settings, or a deletion request to jonathan@d730.co.za results in the stored data being deleted.
- Incident response. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information or connected-account data, we will notify affected schools and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law, including POPIA, and revoke or rotate affected credentials.
Cookies and tracking
Front Seat TV uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the platform. Their purpose is to keep you signed in after you log in and to keep your session secure. These cookies are essential to the service and are not used to follow you across other websites.
We do not use analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts of our own.
Live streams and replays are delivered through embedded YouTube players. When you watch a match, YouTube may set its own cookies and process viewer data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
